Celebrate National Canadian Film Day!

By Katherine Dodds

It's National Canadian Film Day!

We of course have many fantastic Canadian films available on our webstore - but as distributors we would be remiss in not tooting the horn of our two major titles:

The Corporation & 65_RedRoses.

THE CORPORATION ~ In preparation for our upcoming Off The Couch campaign - do our survey for Fans of The Corporation, and Save the date for the upcoming Vancouver screening on May 26.

65_REDROSES ~ On the heels of Organ Donation Week and the beginning of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month - we are offered deep discounted specials for bulk orders of 65_RedRoses. (only in Canada) Spread our #4Eva Campaign by sharing this remarkable Canadian film with everyone you know!

BIG congratulations are also due to filmmaker Nimisha Mukerji (director of 65_RedRoses and Blood Relative) who is going receive a well-deserved award from Women in Film Vancouver tomorrow night.

On April 30, Mukerji will be honoured at Women in Film & Television Vancouver’s 25th Anniversary Spotlight Awards for artistic achievement. - See more at: http://www.wevancouver.com/arts/reel-people/reel-people-a-storyteller-s-story-1.1003274#sthash.yuImNSTX.0jn8vbcw.dpuf

Excerpt: On April 30, Mukerji will be honoured at Women in Film & Television Vancouver’s 25th Anniversary Spotlight Awards for artistic achievement.

“Getting the award is honouring all of the extraordinary women in my life who have helped me get here, from my mother to my mentors to the subjects themselves, like Eva and Tempest,” she says. “I share this with all of them because they’re the reason that I’m making films and they’re the reason I’m getting this award.”

The Women in Spotlight awards will be handed out at Performance Works. Horror directors Jenn and Sylvia Soska (American Mary) and Whistler Film Festival founder Shauna Hardy Mishaw are among the other honorees. Tickets and information

Congratulations also to our friend Michelle Mason for her Wayne Black Service Award!

We carry Michelle's fine film Breaking Ranks about US War Resisters in Canada on our store.
